Two Aberdeen trainers made it onto this page. Both say plainly on their own websites that they use positive, force-free methods. There are other trainers around Aberdeenshire, but we only list ones we could check and who are based in the city.
All Dogs Go To Erinn
Area: Old Aberdeen
Phone: 07551 374106
Website: alldogsgotoerinn.com
Positive reinforcement, and the site says it uses “only ethical, science-backed training methods”. The list is wide: puppy classes, one-to-one training, life skills, confidence walks, a course for reactive dogs and behaviour consultations. That makes it a sensible first call if you are not sure which type of help you need.
Alba Dogs (Pauline Mitchell)
Address: Unit One, Grampian Pet Services, Barratt Trading Estate, Bridge of Don AB23 8JW
Phone: 07780 990759
Website: albadogs.co.uk
Offers “compassionate, force-free support” through one-to-one work, including ACE Free Work, and Pauline is a Tellington TTouch practitioner. There are no group classes, so it suits dogs who find a class too much.
Which one for which dog?
A confident puppy who needs social practice does well in a class. A dog who finds other dogs overwhelming usually does better one-to-one. Either way, ask for a short call first.
Aberdeen has open space and a long beach for practising recall once your dog is ready. If you are thinking about extras for a healthy coat and joints, take a look at the dog supplements and vitamins at Calmshops, and check with your vet first.
Details come from each trainer’s own site and Google Maps and can change, so confirm before you book. More for Aberdeen: the Aberdeen dog services hub, Aberdeen vets, swimming spots and the UK-wide dog trainer directory.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a puppy class in Aberdeen?
All Dogs Go To Erinn lists puppy classes on its website. Confirm dates and availability directly.
What if my dog finds group classes too stressful?
One-to-one sessions are often easier. Alba Dogs works one-to-one only, and All Dogs Go To Erinn also offers one-to-one training.
Can a trainer fix aggression or reactivity?
No honest trainer will promise a fix. They can help you understand and manage the behaviour. If it is new or severe, speak to your vet first.
