Dog-Friendly Accommodation in Cambridgeshire: Hotels, Camping and What We Couldn’t Confirm

A dog lying comfortably on a hotel bed, illustrating dog-friendly accommodation in Manchester

Cambridgeshire’s flat fens and riverside walks make it an easy county to base a dog-friendly trip in, but we wanted somewhere with a confirmed policy, not just a general reputation. Here’s what Figo and I checked and could stand behind.

Hotels

University Arms, Cambridge

Right in the city centre at Regent Street, Cambridge, CB2 1AD (Google Maps, hotel’s own website), the University Arms charges £35 per dog per night, with up to two dogs per room and a 25kg weight limit per dog. Dogs are only allowed in Classic, Superior and Suite rooms — not the on-site bar, Parker’s Tavern restaurant, or the gym, though they’re welcome on a lead in the Library and reception. Housekeeping won’t service your room while a dog is inside, and dogs can’t be left unattended in the room.

Holiday Inn Express Cambridge

At 15–17 Coldhams Business Park, Norman Way, Cambridge, CB1 3LH (Google Maps, hotel’s own site), dogs are welcome for £30 per pet, per stay, with up to two pets and no weight limit. Pre-booking is required unless you book the hotel’s dedicated pet package.

Camping

Big Skies Camping and Glamping, March

Near March, Cambridgeshire (listing on Pitchup.com), this site offers dog-friendly pitches under famously big fenland skies. Pitchup doesn’t publish a dog fee or a limit on numbers, so confirm both directly with the site before you book.

What we couldn’t confirm

We looked for a dog-friendly pub-with-rooms and a self-catering cottage with its own stated dog policy inside Cambridgeshire and came up short on both — plenty of general “dog-friendly county” lists, but nothing we could trace back to a specific address and a policy stated by the business itself. If you know a genuine one, let us know and we’ll add it.

A city-centre hotel stay with strict room rules is exactly the kind of trip where a dog who settles quickly matters. We like the calming collars and treats at Calmshops for dogs who find new places unsettling — always check with your vet first if your dog has any underlying health conditions.
