Leicestershire’s dog-friendly accommodation is spread fairly widely for a county this size, if you know where to look — most of what we found sits with single-sourced detail on a booking platform rather than the venue’s own site, which is worth bearing in mind before you rely on a fee or room-limit figure. Premier Inn is excluded countywide, as usual, since no branch overrides the chain’s standard assistance-dogs-only policy.
Leicester
- voco Leicester by IHG, 101 Welford Road, LE2 7QS — confirmed pet-friendly on the operator’s own IHG booking page, £15/night fee. Size, breed and number limits aren’t published online — phone 0116 366 5693 to check before booking.
- Hilton Leicester, 21 Junction Approach, LE19 1WQ — £20 per pet per night, up to 2 pets per room, reception asks to be notified in advance. This one is single-sourced via a specialist pet-travel directory rather than the hotel’s own site, so treat the fee as indicative rather than guaranteed.
We also looked at The Gresham Aparthotel on Market Street. We’re leaving it out: Visit Leicester’s own tourism site describes it as having “a few dog-friendly rooms,” but a booking platform listing for the same property states pets aren’t allowed at all. We couldn’t resolve that conflict from publicly available sources, so if you’re considering it, phone the hotel directly rather than relying on either claim.
Loughborough
- Quorn Grange Hotel, 88 Wood Lane, Quorn, LE12 8DB — dogs only (no cats), maximum 2 dogs per stay, around 20kg per dog, £15/pet/day. Pet-friendly rooms are limited, so request one when booking.
- Charnwood Regency, 136 Leicester Road, LE11 2AQ — dogs only, £15/pet/night, pet-friendly rooms limited and must be requested.
Worth a caution here: Burleigh Court Hotel in Loughborough, near the university, turns up in dog-friendly searches because of an unrelated hotel of the same name in the Cotswolds that genuinely does welcome dogs. We checked the Loughborough property’s own booking terms directly, and they state pets aren’t allowed. Don’t let the two get mixed up.
Market Harborough
The Three Swans Hotel, 21 High Street, LE16 7NJ — a historic coaching inn, dogs allowed up to 2 per booking, only specific rooms accept pets (request at booking), £15 per night. Service/assistance dogs are exempt from the fee and room restriction as usual.
Hinckley
Sketchley Grange Hotel & Spa, Sketchley Lane, Burbage, LE10 3HU — £20 per night pet fee; the listing we found says “restrictions apply” without specifying what they are, so it’s worth a call before you book if you have a particular room or dog in mind.
Melton Mowbray
Stapleford Park Country House Hotel and Sporting Estate, Stapleford, LE14 2EF — up to 2 dogs, no size limit stated, dogs shouldn’t be left unattended in the room (reception may be able to dog-sit if they’re not busy), allowed in most areas but not the main dining room. Not every room is dog-friendly, so ask when booking. The pet fee has been reported anywhere from around £20 to £60 depending on the length of stay and when it was booked, so confirm the current rate directly. Stapleford sits close to the Rutland border, but the hotel itself is in the Melton district of Leicestershire.
Lutterworth
The Greyhound Coaching Inn, Market Street, LE17 4EJ — 1 dog per booking, only specific rooms are pet-friendly (request at booking), £10/pet/night.
Wigston
Holiday Inn Leicester – Wigston (IHG), 299 Leicester Road, LE18 1JW — £20 per pet per night.
Coalville, Ashby-de-la-Zouch & Castle Donington (North West Leicestershire)
- Charnwood Arms by Greene King Inns, Beveridge Lane, Coalville, LE67 1TB — listed as dog-friendly by the operator’s own site and confirmed on the district council’s own accommodation page, though no fee is published online. Call 01530 813 644 to confirm.
- Best Western Appleby Park Hotel, Appleby Magna, DE12 7AP — pets allowed for an extra charge not published online. A quick note: the “Swadlincote” postal town and DE postcode sound Derbyshire, but Appleby Magna is genuinely within North West Leicestershire district.
- The Queens Head, Long Street, Belton, LE12 9TP — dogs welcome in the bar and in one dedicated dog-friendly bedroom (request it), with dog beds and bowls provided. No fee published — call 01530 222 359.
- Donington Park Farmhouse Hotel, Melbourne Road, Castle Donington, DE74 2RN — dogs and cats allowed, £10 per accommodation per stay. Again, the DE74 postcode and “Derby” postal town look Derbyshire, but Castle Donington itself is unambiguously in Leicestershire.
- Conkers Camping and Caravanning Club Site, National Forest, near Moira/Ashby-de-la-Zouch — Camping and Caravanning Club sites are dog-friendly as standard policy, and this one has 90 pitches plus glamping tents. One caveat: the site sits right on the Leicestershire/Derbyshire border, and some mapping places the pitch itself just inside Derbyshire, so treat this one as a borderline inclusion.
Market Bosworth
The Nest, Sutton Cheney — a self-catering holiday cottage near Bosworth Battlefield, 1 pet allowed, no fee stated. No street address or postcode is published online for this one — phone the owner on 01244 352 084 to ask for details before booking.
Genuine gaps
We couldn’t verify any named dog-friendly accommodation in Syston or Shepshed beyond generic countywide aggregator pages, and Market Bosworth has only the one cottage above — nothing further corroborated. These are genuine gaps rather than oversights, worth a direct phone call to individual venues if you need to stay in one of these towns specifically.

A night away is a lot of new smells and noises for a dog to settle into, especially after a long day exploring Bradgate Park or the Wolds. A calming bite before you travel can help take the edge off that first evening in a new room. If the unsettled behaviour doesn’t ease once they’re used to a place, that’s worth a word with your vet.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Burleigh Court Hotel in Loughborough dog-friendly?
No. Its own booking terms state pets aren’t allowed. It’s often confused with an unrelated, genuinely dog-friendly hotel of the same name in the Cotswolds.
Are Appleby Magna and Castle Donington really in Leicestershire?
Yes, both sit within North West Leicestershire district, despite postcodes and postal towns (DE12, DE74, “Swadlincote,” “Derby”) that sound like Derbyshire.
Is Premier Inn in Leicestershire dog-friendly?
Not as standard. No Leicestershire branch overrides the chain’s usual assistance-dogs-only policy, so we haven’t listed any Premier Inn here.
