Dog-Friendly Pubs, Cafés & Restaurants in Glasgow City

A dog sitting at a pub bar next to its owner, illustrating a dog-friendly pub in Manchester

We used CAMRA’s own Glasgow pub records as the backbone here, checking each venue’s “Dog Friendly” tag and current open status, and only counted a café or restaurant where we found business-owned confirmation rather than a generic round-up.

East End

West Brewery (WEST Brewing Co), 4 Binnie Place, Calton, G40 1AW — the beerhall and beer garden are “completely dog friendly,” with dogs welcome until closing time, confirmed both on CAMRA and the brewery’s own website. This is the best-corroborated venue on this list.

Southside

Kilmurray & Co, 210 Kilmarnock Road, Shawlands, G43 1TY — dog friendly.

Where we came up short

We couldn’t verify a single dog-friendly pub in Merchant City, Dennistoun or Pollokshields through CAMRA’s own tags. Cafés and restaurants were the weakest category across the whole city — Finnieston in particular is talked up constantly in tourism copy as dog-friendly, but we couldn’t independently confirm a single café or restaurant there beyond round-up mentions, so we’ve left that out rather than present an unconfirmed name as verified. One Glasgow pub that previously carried a strong dog-friendly reputation, BrewDog’s Kelvingrove branch, has closed down as part of a wider round of closures, and some older tourism pages still list it as open — don’t rely on those.

Taking a nervous dog somewhere busy? A few Calmdogs calming bites alongside a familiar blanket can help take the edge off.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the best dog-friendly pub in Glasgow?

West Brewery in Calton is the strongest match — dogs are welcome in the beerhall and beer garden until closing, confirmed both on CAMRA and by the brewery itself.

Are there dog-friendly cafés in Finnieston?

Several are talked up in tourism round-ups, but we couldn’t independently confirm any specific café there, so we’ve left that out of this guide for now.

Is BrewDog Kelvingrove still dog friendly?

No — that branch has closed, despite some older tourism pages still listing it as open.
