Good news if you’re in Bridgend and need a secure space for a reactive or nervous dog — there are two genuinely confirmed, fully enclosed fields inside the county borough, both within easy reach of Bridgend town.
Secure dog fields in Bridgend
- Dogz Unleashed Dog Field, New Road, Tondu, Bridgend, CF32 0EL · Google Maps · British Dog Fields listing — a 1-2 acre paddock with 6ft fencing, from £12/hour, with bookings capped at 8 dogs. XL Bully and Control Order dogs need to contact the field directly before booking.
- Pawsome Walks Bridgend Dog Walking Field, Manor Court Farm, Farm Road, Cefn Cribwr, near Bridgend, CF32 0HA · Google Maps · pawsomewalks.org — a fully enclosed field with 50-minute sessions booked online via Booksy. No session price is published on the site, though treats are available for a small cost. There’s a no-refunds policy, but you can reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before your slot.
A few things worth knowing
- Neither field publishes full pricing for every booking size, so confirm the exact cost when you book, particularly for Pawsome Walks’ session rate.
- If reactivity is new or getting worse, it’s worth a chat with your vet to rule out anything physical before assuming it’s purely behavioural — our Best vets in Bridgend guide is a good place to start.
- Pairing a secure field session with some work from a dog trainer in Bridgend tends to get the best long-term results, rather than relying on the field alone.
- A calming treat on the drive over can take the edge off for a dog who gets wound up before new experiences — we keep a packet of Calmdogs’ calming treats in the car for exactly that with Figo.
