Merseyside’s secure dog field scene is genuinely clustered — six verified fields, all sitting in Sefton, Knowsley or St Helens, with Wirral and Southport itself as clear gaps. The usual national aggregators were patchy here too: one site’s Merseyside listings turned out to be mostly West Lancashire fields wearing a “Liverpool” label, which we’ve sorted out below.
Zoomies Zone Liverpool — Halewood (Knowsley)
North End Lane, Halewood, L26 5QB. Four separate zones: Woodland Zone (8 acres, woodland plus paddock), Adventure Zone (2 acres), Action Zone (just under 2 acres) and Activity Zone (0.3 acres). Described as “Liverpool’s largest private hire dog park” — this is a private-hire claim rather than explicit “sole use” wording. From £6 (Activity Zone) up to £21.75 (Woodland Zone, with a late-availability discount to £16.50); other zones from £8.50. Book online via the operator’s own scheduling calendar, with text alerts for late availability.
My Dog Paddock — Tarbock Green (Knowsley)
Water Lane, Tarbock Green, Prescot L35 1RD. 1 acre, 6ft fencing, described as a secure paddock. £10 for 55 minutes, up to 6 dogs. Marketed as a “private dog field for hire,” though the page doesn’t explicitly confirm no one else is on site during your slot. Book online with card payment (your slot is held only until payment completes); phone backup 07968 865339.
The Dog Park Rainhill — St Helens
Rainhill Hall, Warrington Road, Rainhill, Prescot L35 6NZ — Rainhill sits within St Helens borough. 8ft walls surround the whole field. The operator’s own site states explicitly: “you will have exclusive use of the field during your time slot for up to 6 dogs” — a genuine sole-use claim. Price isn’t published; book via the site’s own booking button.
DoggyVIP Field & Park — Formby (Sefton)
Brook Farm, Moss Side, Formby L37 0AF. 11 acres of rural fields with woodland, plus a separate purpose-built enclosed dog park with 30+ obstacles. The operator’s own site states “private hire to yourself” — explicit sole-use wording. Price and booking method aren’t published on the main page.
Running Paws Maghull — Maghull (Sefton)
3 The Smallholdings, Millbank Lane, Maghull, Liverpool L31 9AT. Two fields on site; the operator’s own site states “private hire only” — explicit sole-use wording. Fencing isn’t specifically described beyond “a secure place for dogs to run free.” Price isn’t published; an availability calendar is shown but the booking mechanism itself isn’t detailed on the page.
Dog Walking Field Formby — Formby (Sefton)
82 Lord Sefton Way, Formby L37 5AG. Two fields (a “Park” field and a “Basic” field), max 3 dogs, 8ft fencing with CCTV. Doesn’t use “sole use” or “exclusive” wording itself, but its own FAQ states plainly: “Will other people be present? No — just your booking.” Field 1 (Park) £6 for 30 minutes; Field 2 (Basic) £5 for 30 minutes. 48 hours’ cancellation notice required. Book online via the operator’s own site.
A near-the-boundary note: Ormskirk and Aughton
If you’re near the north Liverpool/Maghull/Southport edge of the county, a cluster of secure fields around Ormskirk, Aughton and Burscough — just over the boundary in West Lancashire rather than Merseyside itself — is worth knowing about, since several (Sycamore Dog Field, Top Dogz Field, My Dog Meadow, Paws in the Paddock Aughton, The Frog & Dog) have their own operator sites and booking systems. We haven’t verified their individual pricing or exclusivity wording since they’re outside this county’s scope, but they’re a reasonable alternative if nothing closer works for you.
Coverage gaps
The Wirral peninsula is a genuine, total gap — we couldn’t find a single secure dog field anywhere from Birkenhead to Hoylake. Southport itself has no field within Sefton’s boundary (the nearest comparable options sit just over the border in West Lancashire, above). St Helens, Bootle, Crosby, Huyton and Kirkby all came back empty beyond the fields already listed above, and there’s no verified field inside Liverpool’s own city boundary — every confirmed Merseyside field sits in the outer boroughs.

A secure field gives a reactive or nervous dog proper off-lead time without worrying about who else might wander in. If yours still takes a while to settle even with the field to themselves, a calming bite before the session can help take the edge off, alongside whatever training you’re already working through. For ongoing reactivity, talk to your vet or a qualified behaviourist.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a secure dog field on the Wirral?
We couldn’t find one anywhere on the peninsula — a genuine, total gap.
Which Merseyside secure field has the clearest sole-use guarantee?
The Dog Park Rainhill in St Helens, whose own site explicitly promises exclusive use of the field during your time slot. DoggyVIP in Formby and Running Paws Maghull also use explicit “private hire” wording.
Is there a secure dog field inside Liverpool itself?
Not within the city boundary — every verified Merseyside field sits in the outer boroughs of Sefton, Knowsley or St Helens. Zoomies Zone Liverpool, despite the name, is in Halewood, Knowsley.
