East Sussex has three genuinely verified secure fields, run by two operators, concentrated in the Battle/Heathfield/Pevensey corridor. Coverage is thinner near Hastings, Bexhill, Lewes, Rye, Hailsham and Crowborough themselves, which we’ll be upfront about rather than pretend otherwise. Freedom Fields, Battle — London Road, Battle, TN33 0LS. Two fenced fields (1.5 and 2 acres), £11/hour,

East Sussex (we mean the county outside Brighton & Hove, which has its own separate council and gets its own page) has a genuine gap in chain hotels, but a handful of independent spots and campsites do confirm dogs on their own channels. Independent hotels The Grand Hotel, Eastbourne Seafront — £25 per dog per

East Sussex (outside Brighton & Hove, which has its own guide) turned up 18 genuinely confirmed dog-friendly pubs across nine towns, mostly via CAMRA’s own “Dog Friendly” tag. Cafés and restaurants are a harder gap, which we’re upfront about below. Eastbourne The Crown, 22 Crown Street, Old Town, BN21 1PB The Pilot Inn, 89 Meads

East Riding’s dog walks run from dramatic seabird cliffs to flat pine woodland and a historic stately home’s parkland, with the fast-eroding Holderness coast binding it all together. We’ve checked each against the landowner’s own rules, and flagged the couple of places where the official sources genuinely disagree with each other, rather than smoothing it

This is a thin category for East Riding, and we’d rather tell you that plainly than pad it out. We found one genuinely verified secure field, in the far west of the county, and one credible local-press lead we couldn’t confirm well enough to publish as a listing. Hunsdale Fields, Brough Road, Ellerker, HU15 2DB

East Riding does well for dog-friendly pubs — we found 24 of them with a genuine CAMRA “Dog Friendly” tag across eight towns — but cafés and restaurants are a different story, which we’ll be upfront about below. Beverley Dog & Duck, 33 Ladygate, HU17 8BH — dogs welcome in the bar at all times,

We’ll be straight with you on this one: East Riding of Yorkshire has no IHG or Accor branded hotel at all in its own towns, so there’s no “chain hotel” section to speak of here, and we couldn’t independently verify a single hotel or B&B’s own pet policy either — several good-looking candidates exist, but

Dundee packs a surprising amount of dog-walking variety into a small council area: a reclaimed riverside park on the Tay, a famous (and famously debated) seasonal beach ban, wooded hills, and a scattering of city parks each with their own council-published rules. Here’s what we found, sourced to Dundee City Council’s own leaflets and the

We’ll be straight with you: we couldn’t verify a secure, hire-by-the-hour dog field actually inside Dundee City. It’s a compact urban council area without much spare farmland for this kind of site. We did find one genuine option a short drive out, and we’re flagging exactly where it sits rather than pretending it’s local. The

Dundee has something we haven’t seen anywhere else in this project so far: a genuine council-run accreditation scheme for dog walkers, called Dog Watch Dundee. It’s voluntary rather than a legal licence, but it means the council actually inspects and approves the businesses on its list, which is a stronger form of independent verification than
