Dog-Friendly Accommodation in Carmarthenshire: Hotels, Camping & Cottages

Carmarthenshire’s a big, rural county — Llandeilo’s parkland, the Laugharne coast, Brechfa’s forests — good dog country generally, and our Carmarthenshire hub page and dog swimming spots guide cover plenty of it. For accommodation, though, we wanted somewhere with a specific, stated dog policy, not a vague “pets welcome” badge. Here’s what Figo and I could confirm.

Hotels and inns

Brown’s Hotel, Laugharne

At King Street, Laugharne, Carmarthenshire, SA33 4RY (Google Maps, hotel’s own site), Brown’s Hotel states on its own site that it’s dog friendly. No fee is published online — the site says to call for price information, so ring 01994 427688 or email info@browns.wales to confirm the current rate before booking.

We also checked Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn, voco, ibis and Mercure directly on each chain’s own site, and couldn’t find a branch actually inside Carmarthenshire — the nearest are in Swansea and Neath, both outside the county. Premier Inn has two branches in Llanelli, but its 2026 “dog-friendly stays” launch is Dubai-only, and we found no branch-level confirmation that either Llanelli hotel takes dogs, so we’ve left it off this list rather than repeat a claim we couldn’t stand behind.

Camping, caravan & glamping

Nine Acres Camping and Caravan Park, Laugharne

At Broadway, Laugharne, Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, SA33 4RS (Google Maps, Pitchup listing), dogs are welcome for £3.50 per night, up to two dogs per pitch. Dogs must be microchipped with valid vaccination records, kept on a lead, and aren’t allowed in the amenity buildings; breeds banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act are excluded, and guide dogs stay free.

Hazeldene Caravan Park, Kidwelly

At The Old Cottage, Parcmaenllwyd, Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire, SA17 5HZ (Google Maps, Pitchup listing), dogs are welcome for £2 per night, up to two dogs, kept on leads and supervised, and not allowed in the amenity buildings. Guide dogs are free.

Fron Rafel, Newcastle Emlyn

At Waungilwen, Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthenshire, SA44 5YL (Google Maps, Pitchup listing), tent and caravan pitches include up to two dogs free; yurt bookings are £3 per night per dog, up to two. Dogs must be on a lead and supervised, and the site excludes breeds covered by the Dangerous Dogs Act.

Argoed Meadow Camping & Caravan Park, Cenarth

At Cenarth, Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthenshire, SA38 9JL (Google Maps, VisitWales listing) — on the Carmarthenshire bank of the Teifi, right on the county boundary — Argoed Meadow describes pets as “especially welcome,” with assistance dogs also permitted. No fee or further conditions are published on the listing, so confirm directly before you book.

What we couldn’t confirm

We looked hard for a self-catering cottage inside Carmarthenshire with its own clearly stated dog policy. Sykes Cottages and Canine Cottages both list a good number of properties for the county, but neither platform publishes a full address or pet fee on the search-results page — that only appears once you enquire or book — so we can’t responsibly name specific cottages here yet. If a cottage is what you’re after, search those two platforms directly for Carmarthenshire and check each listing’s own pet policy before booking. If you know a genuine one we can verify end to end, let us know and we’ll add it properly, alongside our Carmarthenshire vets guide if you need one while you’re away.

A new place to sleep can unsettle even a well-travelled dog. We like the calming collars and treats at Calmshops as a complementary option — always check with your vet first if your dog has any underlying health conditions.
