Dog-Friendly Accommodation in Ceredigion: Camping, Glamping & What We Couldn’t Confirm

Ceredigion’s rugged coast and inland hills make for a tempting dog-friendly staycation, and our Ceredigion hub page and Cardiganshire swimming spots guide cover plenty of it. For accommodation, though, we hold every “pets welcome” claim to the same standard: a specific address and a stated, sourced policy. Here’s what checked out — and why, unusually, there’s no hotel to report.

Camping, caravan & glamping

Moody Meadows, Bargoed Farm, Aberaeron

At Bargoed Farm, Llwyncelyn, Aberaeron, Ceredigion, SA46 0HL (Google Maps, Pitchup listing), dogs are welcome for £1 per night, up to three dogs per pitch, on a leash and supervised at all times, year-round, with a dog wash on site.

Woodlands Holiday Park, Llanon

At Llanon, Aberaeron, Ceredigion, SY23 5LX (Google Maps, Pitchup listing), one dog is included on touring pitches, with £2 per night for up to two extra dogs. Dogs must be on leads and supervised, aren’t allowed in the main facilities building, and breeds covered by the Dangerous Dogs Act aren’t accepted; the primitive tent pitch excludes dogs entirely.

Plas Y Wern, Tresaith

At Tanygroes, Cardigan, Ceredigion, SA43 2JP (Google Maps, Pitchup listing), dogs are welcome for £5 per night, up to two per pitch, with leads, supervision and a vaccination certificate required. There’s a secure exercise field on site, open year-round. This is a Caravan and Motorhome Club site, so free CAMC membership is needed to book.

Four Paws Glamping, Trawscoed

At Llethr Melyn, Trawscoed, Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, SY23 4HU (Google Maps, Pitchup listing), this dog-themed glamping site includes up to three dogs per pod at no extra charge. Dogs must be on a lead and supervised, with an enclosed outdoor area, an agility exercise area and three fields for off-lead running, plus bridleway and woodland paths nearby.

Penuwch Inn Caravan & Camping, Tregaron

At Penuwch, Tregaron, Ceredigion, SY25 6RA (Google Maps), this site is listed as “pets welcome,” but no fee, lead rule or dog limit is published online — confirm directly before you book.

What we couldn’t confirm

Unusually for this series, we couldn’t confirm a single hotel or inn in Ceredigion with a stated dog policy. We checked Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn, voco, ibis and Mercure directly — none has a branch in the county, and the only chain hotel at all, Premier Inn Aberystwyth, doesn’t publish a pet policy on its own branch page (and Premier Inn’s 2026 “dog-friendly stays” launch is Dubai-only, so we’re not assuming it applies here). Gwesty Cymru, a boutique Aberystwyth hotel that turns up on older “dog-friendly Wales” lists, has closed and is in liquidation — don’t book expecting to find it. We also checked the Conrah Hotel, the Cliff Hotel & Spa at Gwbert, and the Royal Pier Hotel, but couldn’t get past booking-aggregator pages to an independent, dated statement of their dog policy, so we’re not listing them without one — it’s worth phoning any of these directly if a hotel stay matters to you.

Cottages are in the same position: Sykes Cottages and Canine Cottages both list properties in Ceredigion, but neither shows a full address or dog fee until you enquire, so we can’t name one responsibly yet. If you know a genuine one we can verify end to end, let us know and we’ll add it, alongside our Ceredigion vets guide if you need one while you’re away.

A new place to sleep can unsettle even a well-travelled dog. We like the calming collars and treats at Calmshops as a complementary option — always check with your vet first if your dog has any underlying health conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a dog-friendly hotel in Ceredigion?

We couldn’t confirm one. No major UK hotel chain has a branch in the county, Premier Inn Aberystwyth doesn’t publish a pet policy, and Gwesty Cymru, a hotel that turns up on older lists, has closed. If a hotel stay matters to you, try phoning an independent hotel like the Conrah or the Cliff Hotel & Spa directly.

Are there dog-friendly campsites in Ceredigion?

Yes — five verified, including Moody Meadows and Woodlands Holiday Park near Aberaeron, Four Paws Glamping (a dog-themed site near Aberystwyth), and Plas Y Wern near Cardigan.
