Dog-Friendly Accommodation in Cornwall: Hotels, Camping & Cottages

A dog lying comfortably on a hotel bed, illustrating dog-friendly accommodation in Manchester

Cornwall is one of the most dog-friendly counties in the UK to visit, which also means it’s one of the easiest to get wrong — plenty of sites claim to welcome dogs without saying what that actually means. Our Cornwall hub page and dog swimming spots guide cover what to do once you’re here. For somewhere to actually stay, Figo and I only wanted places with a specific, checkable dog policy, confirmed on the venue’s own site wherever possible — not a vague “pets welcome” badge on an aggregator page. Here’s what we could confirm.

Chain hotel

Holiday Inn Express Cornwall Services, St Austell

At Victoria, Roche, St Austell, PL26 8UF (Google Maps, IHG’s own listing), up to two dogs or cats are welcome at £20 per pet per night, in Standard Double Rooms only, with a limited number of pet rooms — book ahead. Guide dogs are exempt from the fee. We checked ibis, Mercure and voco directly as well, and none has a branch anywhere in Cornwall at all — not a case of a branch existing but not taking dogs, the chains simply aren’t present in the county. Premier Inn’s own Cornwall hotels page doesn’t mention a pet policy at all, so as with every other AboutDogs guide, it’s left off by default.

Independent hotels

The Bedruthan Hotel & Spa, Mawgan Porth

At Mawgan Porth, TR8 4BU (Google Maps, hotel’s own site), £25 per dog per night covers small-to-medium dogs, with a call ahead needed to confirm. Dogs are welcome in the cocktail bar, the Ballroom and Wild Café on a lead, but not near the pools or kids’ areas; dog-free rooms are kept available for allergy sufferers.

The Nare Hotel, Veryan-in-Roseland

At Carne Beach, Veryan-in-Roseland, TR2 5PF (Google Maps, hotel’s own site), the daily dog surcharge for 2026 is £22 for a small dog, £27 medium or £30 large. Dogs are welcome in rooms, the gardens and the Quarterdeck restaurant, and there’s even a dog dining menu. Carne Beach itself requires a lead from May to September, 9am to 6pm.

The Greenbank Hotel, Falmouth

At Harbourside, Falmouth, TR11 2SR (Google Maps, hotel’s own site), £20 per dog per night includes bowls and treats, though only some rooms allow dogs — call 01326 312440 to check. Dogs can use the private quay, gardens, and the Working Boat pub throughout, plus breakfast areas under certain conditions.

The Old Coastguard Hotel, Mousehole

In Mousehole, near Penzance (Google Maps, hotel’s own site), the dog fee is a flat £15 for one night or £25 for two or more, regardless of how many dogs. Dogs are welcome in bedrooms (not on the beds), the bar and the Sun Lounge. Phone 01736 731222 to book.

Several more well-known names — Hotel Meudon near Mawnan Smith, Polurrian on the Lizard, The Gurnard’s Head near Zennor, Hotel Tresanton in St Mawes, Lewinnick Lodge in Newquay and the Bodmin Jail Hotel — are named as dog-friendly by VisitCornwall’s own listings, but we couldn’t independently confirm a fee or policy detail for any of them beyond that single source, so we’re not stating specifics here. Worth a direct call if one of these is on your shortlist.

Camping and caravan parks

Trevornick Holiday Park, Holywell Bay, Newquay

At Holywell Bay, near Newquay (Google Maps, park’s own site), dogs are welcome on specific pitches and accommodation only — you need to select a dog-friendly option when booking. An extra fee applies but isn’t published online; call 01637 830531 to confirm. Dogs are allowed in communal areas including near the pool, restaurants and bars, kept on a lead.

Four more sites confirmed as dog-friendly, each via the operator’s own site or a Pitchup listing, but without a published fee we could independently verify: Wooda Farm Holiday Park near Bude, Calloose Caravan Park in Hayle (which has its own on-site dog-walking field), Great Kellow Farm near Polperro, and Tower Park Caravans and Camping in Penzance (also with its own dog exercise field). Pitchup lists over 160 further “dogs allowed” results across Cornwall, but almost none state a specific per-site fee in the listing itself — worth checking each park’s own page directly if you want a firm figure before booking.

What we couldn’t confirm

Self-catering cottages are the weakest category here. Sykes Cottages and Canine Cottages both list large numbers of Cornwall properties as pet-friendly, but their search results don’t expose an individual cottage’s name, address or fee — so we’re not listing specifics rather than publish a guess. If a cottage matters to your trip, get the dog policy from the owner directly and in writing before booking.

A new place to sleep can unsettle even a well-travelled dog. Our Cornwall vets guide is worth bookmarking before you go, and we’ve found the calming collars and treats at Calmshops a useful complementary option — always check with your vet first if your dog has any underlying health conditions. Our Cornwall dog walkers guide and local dog walks guide are worth a look too, once you’ve found somewhere to stay.
