Dog-Friendly Accommodation in Worcestershire: Hotels & Stays

Dog indoors in a bright, dog-friendly room

Worcestershire has plenty of places to stay, but very few publish a dog policy. We found two hotels with a clear policy on their own websites and one with a partial one, and we’ve kept those apart from the places we couldn’t check. Always confirm the fee, the number of dogs and the room rules before you book.

Policy confirmed on the hotel’s own site

The Lygon Arms in Broadway (WR12 7DU) charges £30 per dog per night, including a bed, bowl and treat. Dogs stay in designated bedrooms only, must be over a year old and rabies-vaccinated, and guests must tell the hotel before arrival. Dogs must be on a lead in public areas and aren’t allowed in the spa or the Grill restaurant, where owners eat in the Russell Room instead. Dogs can stay in the bedroom while you use hotel facilities if you stay contactable and able to return quickly, and a £100 housekeeping charge applies if a dog fouls indoors. The hotel’s policy PDF says “per day” rather than “per night” and mentions the Tavern, which the web page doesn’t, so confirm both when you book. The maximum number of dogs isn’t stated.

Dog relaxing on a bed in dog-friendly accommodation

The Cottage in the Wood at Malvern Wells (WR14 4LG) has dedicated pet-friendly rooms, with a blanket and treat provided, and an additional charge that we couldn’t confirm the amount of. Dogs aren’t allowed in the main house (reception, restaurant and lounge bar) because of allergies, but they can join you for a meal on the covered heated terrace. The maximum number of dogs and whether dogs can be left in the room aren’t stated.

The Malvern Hills Hotel at Wynds Point (WR13 6DW) says dogs and their owners are welcome in the Oak Lounge Bar. Its own site says nothing about bedrooms, fees or limits. An older directory listing mentions up to two dogs and a nightly fee, but it’s from 2018 and the price is contradicted by a later review, so we haven’t repeated it. Wynds Point is on the Worcestershire and Herefordshire boundary, so check where you’ll be staying.

Real stays where dogs aren’t confirmed

Visit Worcestershire lists The Vernon at Hanbury, Kateshill House at Bewdley, The Flyford near Worcester, Station House Malvern, The Chapel near Ombersley and Eckington Manor near Pershore, but none of the listings we saw state a dog policy, so ring first. Orchard Blossom at Cropthorne is adults-only and mentions only assistance dogs. The Talbot at Knightwick appears on dog-friendly lists, and we couldn’t read its site. We couldn’t retrieve dog policies for the Premier Inn hotels in Worcester and Evesham, so don’t assume.

Not included, and what’s missing

Astley Vineyard Shepherd’s Hut near Stourport says no pets. Hardwicke Farm at Stottesdon is on Visit Worcestershire’s list but is in Shropshire, and Colwall Park Hotel is in Herefordshire. Campsites, glamping and lodges that take dogs appear around Bewdley, Ombersley, Upton upon Severn and Malvern on booking sites, but we couldn’t verify any operator. We only saw the first page of Visit Worcestershire’s four-page stay directory.

A strange room can unsettle even a seasoned traveller, and a calming bite may help take the edge off. If your dog struggles with travel, speak to your vet. Once you’re booked, see our guide to dog-friendly pubs, cafés and restaurants in Worcestershire, and our Worcestershire dog services hub.
