Dog-Friendly Pubs, Cafés & Restaurants in Worcestershire

Dog resting on a table at a dog-friendly pub or café

Worcestershire’s dog-friendly pubs and cafés are strongest in Worcester, Malvern, Bewdley and Upton upon Severn. Many entries rest on a CAMRA “Dog Friendly” tag that doesn’t say where dogs can sit, so we’ve given the detail where we found it and said so where we didn’t. Some pubs may have changed hands since their listings were written, so a quick call is worth it.

Pubs

In Worcester, the Wheatsheaf Inn on Henwick Road carries the CAMRA tag. In Malvern, the Nag’s Head on Bank Street says dogs are welcome. In Bewdley, Weavers of Bewdley welcomes well-behaved dogs, and the Bewdley Inn on Kidderminster Road allows dogs in the bar (its branding also shows as Riverside Inn, so check the name). In Bromsgrove, the Red Lion on the High Street welcomes dogs on a lead. In Upton upon Severn, the White Lion Hotel welcomes dogs and has a rear patio, and J. Maverick has the CAMRA tag with no detail. The Wyche Inn in Malvern is described by Visit Worcestershire as welcoming dogs in the pub and accommodation. The Royal Oak in Evesham carries the tag too, backed by a 2018 press report, so check it’s still trading.

Cafés

At Hanbury Hall (National Trust), dogs are welcome inside the Stables Café on short leads, but the Courtyard Kitchen admits assistance dogs only. The independent café at Nimmings Wood car park on the Clent Hills is dog-friendly, with water bowls and treats, and dogs must be on a lead in its courtyard. A Visit Worcestershire blog, undated and with no policy detail, names Toast (near Grafton Wood), The Reindeer Cafe in Pershore, Goodroots and Wayland’s Yard in Worcester, and Bayleys of Bromsgrove as dog friendly. The Croome café is assistance dogs only.

Not confirmed, and the gaps

Directory listings name the Anchor Inn & Boathouse, Clockwatchers and Diglis House in Worcester, and the Crown and Sandys Arms at Ombersley, among others, but we couldn’t confirm them from the venues or CAMRA. We found nothing verified for Redditch, Droitwich Spa, Stourport, Tenbury Wells or Broadway. The Visit the Malverns dog-friendly eating-out guide and Worcester’s “Woof Guide” leaflet, which lists over 90 venues, are worth picking up for more. Pubs in the Ludlow area that show up in some searches are in Shropshire, so they aren’t included.

A busy pub can be a lot for a nervous dog, and a calming bite may help take the edge off. If your dog finds crowds hard, speak to your vet. For somewhere to walk it off, see our dog walks in Worcestershire, and our Worcestershire dog services hub.

What does CAMRA’s Dog Friendly tag mean?
