Wrexham County Borough has a handful of places to stay that say yes to dogs, from a Ruabon coaching inn to a National Trust cottage by Chirk Castle. Few publish a per-dog fee, so we’ve given what each one states and said where we couldn’t confirm a figure. Always check the fee, the number of dogs and the room rules before you book.
Pubs and hotels
The Wynnstay Arms in Ruabon (LL14 6BL) calls itself a dog-friendly pub, and its rooms page says some rooms are dog-friendly. The page is inconsistent on how many (the text says two, the page description says twelve), so ask. Its room terms say dogs must be pre-authorised before arrival and can’t be left unattended, and mention a pet supplement without an amount. Rossett Hall Hotel (Chester Road, LL12 0DE) offers a limited number of dog-friendly rooms, and dogs are allowed in a designated area of Oscar’s restaurant. Its fee and dog limit aren’t stated on the group page we read.

The Hand at Llanarmon in the Ceiriog Valley has three dog-friendly rooms and a small additional nightly fee (the amount isn’t stated). Its postal address is filed under Llangollen, so treat it as a border case. Travelodge Wrexham at Rhostyllen (LL14 4EJ) has pet-friendly rooms. The chain’s page mentions a per-pet cleaning charge payable on booking, without the amount. Premier Inn’s FAQ says it doesn’t allow pets except assistance dogs, so we’ve left out both its Wrexham hotels.
Cottage and campsite near Chirk
The National Trust’s Chirk Home Farm Cottage, a few hundred metres from Chirk Castle, sleeps four and allows up to two dogs at no charge, according to the Trust’s dog-friendly cottages listing (we haven’t seen the property’s own page). Lady Margaret’s Park Club Campsite in Chirk (LL14 5AA) is a Caravan and Motorhome Club site open all year. Its page lists dogs as ideal and mentions a dog walk from the site, but doesn’t state a fee or a limit on dogs.
Leads and gaps
The West Arms at Llanarmon is listed as taking pets, but we couldn’t find its own policy. Booking sites show dog-friendly glamping and cabins at Rossett, Holt, Ruabon, Overton-on-Dee and Bangor-on-Dee, and Faraway Follies near Wrexham appears on Pitchup, but we couldn’t reach any operator to verify them. Llangollen hotels and the Raven Inn are in Denbighshire, and Caergwrle is in Flintshire, so they aren’t included. We found nothing for Gresford, Holt, Brymbo or Coedpoeth.
An unfamiliar room can unsettle even a seasoned traveller, and a calming bite may help take the edge off. If your dog struggles with travel, speak to your vet. Once you’re booked, see our guide to dog-friendly pubs, cafés and restaurants in Wrexham, and our Wrexham dog services hub.
