We checked CAMRA’s own pub records town by town across Flintshire, backed up by local press and business-specific sources for cafés. A few pubs only allow dogs in part of the building, so we’ve said exactly where wherever a source told us.

Mold
- Glasfryn, Raikes Lane, CH7 6LR — dogs welcome in the bar area, where dog biscuits are provided.
- Pen-Y-Bont Farm, Chester Road, CH7 1UJ — our sources disagree on whether dogs are garden-only or welcome throughout, so treat it as garden-only until you’ve checked with the pub directly.
- Mold Alehouse (Tafarndy Yr Wyddgrug), Unit 2 Earl Chambers, Earl Road, CH7 1AL — well-behaved dogs welcomed, confirmed by the owner in local press as well as on CAMRA.
- Latte Lottie, Daniel Owen Precinct — a dog-friendly café, with free sausages and treats for dogs, according to the owner.
Holywell
- Royal Oak, Greenfield Road, CH8 7QB — dog friendly.
- Feathers Inn, 2–4 Whitford Street, CH8 7NL — dog friendly.
- Market Cross, 9–11 High Street, CH8 7LA — dogs are restricted to the front area of the pub.
Near Holywell: Mostyn
Café at Abakhan, Coast Road, Mostyn, CH8 9DX — dog friendly indoors, with a designated dog area just inside the entrance.
Hawarden
- Fox & Grapes, The Highway, CH5 3DH — dog friendly.
- Glynne Arms, 3 Glynne Way, CH5 3NS — dog friendly, no conditions stated.
Mynydd Isa
Griffin, 102 Mold Road, CH7 6TF — dog friendly throughout the whole pub, not just the bar or garden.
Saltney
Anchor, High Street, CH4 8SE — dog friendly.
Where we came up short
We found no verifiable dog-friendly pub, café or restaurant in Flint, Buckley, Connah’s Quay, Shotton, Deeside, Caergwrle, Greenfield or Bagillt. In several of these towns the only pub that once carried a dog-friendly tag has since closed (Connah’s Quay’s Ship Inn among them), and the cafés and restaurants we found through general search turned out, on checking, to be unrelated US venues sharing the same town name — Greenfield and Buckley both collide with American towns online, so we’ve excluded anything we couldn’t pin to a genuine Flintshire address.
Taking a nervous dog somewhere new? A few Calmdogs calming bites alongside a familiar blanket can help take the edge off.
