Dog-Friendly Pubs, Cafés & Restaurants in Middlesex

Dog resting on a table at a dog-friendly pub or café

CAMRA’s own “Dog Friendly” facility tags gave us a genuine, confirmed set of dog-friendly pubs scattered across historic Middlesex’s outer-London towns, though several towns came back as a complete gap. Cafés and restaurants were the weakest category of the whole batch — nothing we found cleared the bar of a genuine first-party or official source, so we’ve left that category almost entirely open rather than publish unverified leads.

Harrow

White Horse, 50 Middle Road, Harrow HA2 0HL — CAMRA “Dog Friendly” tag, with a garden and parking.

Twickenham

George, 32 King Street, Twickenham TW1 3SN — CAMRA “Dog Friendly” tag. A second Twickenham pub, the Rifleman on Fourth Cross Road, carries the same tag but was shown as temporarily closed pending a new tenant at the time we checked — worth confirming it’s trading again before relying on it.

Teddington

Tide End Cottage, 8 Ferry Road, Teddington TW11 9NN — confirmed via Greene King’s own site as explicitly dog-friendly, with a riverside beer garden. Masons Arms, 41 Walpole Road, Teddington TW11 8PJ — CAMRA “Dog Friendly” tag, but with a specific restriction worth knowing: dogs are only allowed in the garden here, not the bar.

Staines-upon-Thames & Sunbury-on-Thames

Wheatsheaf & Pigeon, Penton Road, Staines-upon-Thames TW18 2LL — CAMRA “Dog Friendly” tag, with the pub’s own description specifically mentioning water bowls provided. Swan Hotel, The Hythe, Staines-upon-Thames TW18 3JB — dogs welcome in the bars, per CAMRA. Hare & Hounds, 132 Vicarage Road, Sunbury-on-Thames TW16 7QX — CAMRA “Dog Friendly” tag.

Ruislip, Hendon & Wembley

Middlesex Arms, Long Drive, South Ruislip HA4 0HG — CAMRA “Dog Friendly” tag, family-friendly with front and rear gardens. Greyhound, 52 Church End, Hendon NW4 4JT — CAMRA “Dog Friendly” tag, reopened in December 2021 after a two-year closure. The White Horse, Arena Square, Wembley Park — named on the official Wembley Park destination site as a spot where dogs can join you for food and drinks outside; we couldn’t find a street address or postcode published anywhere for this one beyond “Arena Square,” and the source confirms outdoor seating only rather than an indoor policy.

Closed pubs excluded

A number of previously dog-friendly-tagged pubs across the area have since closed for good and are excluded here: the Ostler in Uxbridge, the Fat Controller in Harrow, the Harrow Sports Bar in South Harrow, the Hussar and the Beaver in Hounslow, the Falcon, Fallow Buck and Turkey in Enfield, Thirsty Eddie’s in Wembley, the Queens Head in Finchley, the Three Compasses in Tottenham, and the Load of Hay in Hendon.

Genuine gaps

We couldn’t confirm a single open dog-friendly pub in Uxbridge, Hillingdon, Harefield, Hounslow, Brentford, Isleworth, Feltham, Enfield town itself, Edgware, Pinner, Southgate, Tottenham or Edmonton — in most of these the only candidates we found had already closed. Cafés and restaurants came back a near-total gap across the whole batch: a few leads turned up on third-party aggregators (a café in Hampton Hill, two in Hillingdon) but none had a genuine first-party or official confirmation, so we’ve left the category out rather than publish unverified guesses.

Dog sitting with owners at a dog-friendly pub or café table

A new pub garden full of unfamiliar smells and other dogs can be a lot for a nervier companion. A calming bite before you set off can help them settle in rather than spend the whole visit on edge. If the anxiety runs deeper than a new environment, that’s a conversation for your vet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there dog-friendly cafés in Middlesex?

We couldn’t confirm any to our usual standard — a genuine gap across the whole area, so we’ve left cafés and restaurants out rather than list unverified leads.

Which Teddington pub only allows dogs in the garden?

The Masons Arms on Walpole Road — dogs are welcome in the garden but not the bar itself.

Is there a dog-friendly pub in Uxbridge?

We couldn’t confirm one — a genuine gap. The one lead we found, the Ostler, closed permanently some years ago.
