If your dog is reactive, anxious, or just doesn’t enjoy sharing a park with strangers, a fully fenced private field can be a genuine weekly help. Here’s what Figo and I found and could verify in Cardiff.
Verified secure fields
Vale View Dog Playing Field, Pentyrch
At Efail Isaf Road, Pentyrch, Cardiff, CF15 9NQ (Google Maps, operator’s website), this is a 7-acre private field. Pricing isn’t published on the site — the operator asks you to get in touch or book online for current rates — and the fencing type isn’t specified either, so ask directly if that matters for your dog.
Collar Club Cardiff, St Lythans Road
At St Lythans Road, Cardiff, CF5 6XN (Google Maps, operator’s website), Collar Club Cardiff offers two sizes: an 8-acre “Freedom Field” and a smaller 2.5-acre “Fun Field.” Current pricing wasn’t shown in the listing we checked, so confirm rates directly with the operator before booking.
Whichever field you choose, it’s worth checking the fencing and gate yourself before letting a nervous or escape-prone dog off the lead. A high-visibility harness or lead from Calmshops is handy for the walk to and from the car too.
