Suffolk has a healthy spread of bookable secure dog fields, mostly in the middle of the county around Stowmarket, Woodbridge and Halesworth. We’ve confirmed six on their own booking pages, with a few more that are only partly confirmed. Prices and availability change, so check before you travel.

High Hounds, Highfields Farm, Battisford, Stowmarket IP14 2HL. Just over two acres with a gated perimeter fence (height not stated). Book at highhounds.co.uk, open daily dawn to dusk. One to three dogs are £6 for 25 minutes or £10 for 55; four to six dogs £9 or £14; seven to nine £18 for 55 minutes. Maximum nine dogs, exclusive use, free cancellation up to 24 hours before. XL Bully-type and other restricted breeds need proof of exemption, insurance and written approval first.
Go Frolic, Main Road, Somersham, Ipswich IP8 4PJ. Two fields (The Original and The Hidden Meadow) with a 5ft wire mesh fence, exclusive hire in 55-minute slots, open daily dawn to dusk. £10 for up to three dogs and £14 for four or more, with 10% off ten slots. Book at gofrolic.co.uk.
Sotherton Dog Meadow, Sotherton, near Halesworth IP19 8NP. Three acres, 6ft skirted fence, a fenced pond and a gated car park. Book at sothertondogmeadow.com or on 07885 232456. One dog is £5 for 25 minutes or £10 for 50; two to three dogs £7 or £12; four or more £9 or £15. Open 6am to 9pm, with seasonal variation.
The Dog Orchard, Grundisburgh, Woodbridge. About 2.1 acres with a 1.8m dog-secure fence, online booking and a combination-lock code emailed to you. £10 for one to five dogs and £15 for six to ten, in 55-minute slots, open 6am to 8pm. There’s a five-minute changeover, so wait in the car if the field is occupied. The site also lists a second field, The Cove, which we couldn’t read.
Suffolk Run Free, School Road, Monk Soham IP13 7EN. Buttercup Field (six acres) and Willow Field (three acres), both fully enclosed, open 6am to 10pm, booked online or on 07585 377125. We couldn’t see prices on the page we read. It also has a dog pool, Suffolk Swim Free, in 30-minute sessions.
Stowupland Dog Meadow, Stowupland, Stowmarket IP14 4BN (access from Creeting Lane). Around three acres with a 6ft fence, booked in 30 or 60-minute slots at stowuplanddogmeadow.co.uk. We couldn’t confirm price or hours.
Partly confirmed
Freckenham Secure Dog Field (IP28 8JB, about six miles from Newmarket) has a booking page confirming four acres, but we couldn’t confirm fencing, price or hours. Go Wild Dog Adventures at Wetherden, Stowmarket, shows online booking at £6 for 25 minutes or £10 for 55 for one to three dogs, with no address or fence details on the page we read. Pup School Suffolk hires a securely fenced 1.5-acre paddock at £15 an hour (07751 172666), but its location near Wortham is close to the Norfolk border, so check the postcode.
Leads we couldn’t check
Dog-field directories also list Bow Wow Dog Adventures (Bury St Edmunds), Park Farm Dog Meadow (Winston), The Meadow (Capel St Mary), Walkies Tuddenham, The Deben Dog Hub (Woodbridge), Spots Meadow (Little Bealings) and Walkies Pettistree. None had a website we could read, and we got no ratings, so treat them as leads only. We haven’t confirmed that a further group, including Fressingfield Dog Run and Kenny Hill, offers exclusive private hire.
Look-alikes and border cases
Riddlesworth turns up in Suffolk searches but is in Norfolk. “Walkies Dog Field” is in Somerset, and several generic names such as The Meadow appear in many counties, so always match the postcode.
A secure field is a lovely place for a reactive or nervy dog to run without surprise visitors. A calming bite can help take the edge off the journey there.
