Dog-Friendly Accommodation in Belfast: Hotels, Camping & Cottages

A dog lying comfortably on a hotel bed, illustrating dog-friendly accommodation in Manchester

Belfast isn’t a city that gets talked up for dog-friendly breaks, but digging into it, Figo and I found a genuine, well-documented welcome right in the city centre — plus a caravan park out towards Dundonald and one self-catering option, though supply thins out fast after that. I went looking for options I could stand behind with a named, checkable source, rather than copying a “pet-friendly” badge from a booking aggregator and hoping it still applies.

If you’re planning a stay and want somewhere to let your dog stretch their legs once you’ve checked in, our guide to local dog walks in Belfast is worth bookmarking alongside this one.

Dog-friendly hotels in Belfast

Belfast’s hotel scene has two confirmed, checkable dog-friendly options in or near the city centre.

  • Second Nature Belfast (formerly room2), 32-36 Queen Street, Belfast, BT1 6EE · Google Maps. Dogs up to 35kg are welcome with no additional charge — the property’s own site says there’s “no additional charge for staying with your pet.” Mention your dog when booking, and get in touch directly first if you’re travelling with any other kind of animal. • voco Belfast, 3 Cromac Place, Belfast, BT7 2JB · Google Maps. Listed as pets allowed on IHG’s own Belfast pet-friendly hotels page; the page doesn’t publish a specific fee, weight limit or number of pets, so confirm directly with the hotel before booking. What we checked but left out: the Bullitt Hotel was widely reported in 2019 as launching dog-friendly rooms with a Casper dog bed and a per-night pet policy, but we couldn’t find current confirmation of that policy, a street address for the offer, or a current fee from the hotel’s own channels, so we’re not listing it as confirmed — check directly with the hotel before booking if this interests you. Travelodge Belfast Central falls under Travelodge’s general UK pet policy (a per-pet cleaning charge, with guide and assistance dogs exempt), but the chain’s own page doesn’t confirm whether this applies without exception to the Belfast hotel, so confirm directly before booking.

Dog-friendly camping and glamping

  • Dundonald Touring Caravan Park, 111 Old Dundonald Road, Belfast · Google Maps. Listed as dog friendly, next to the Dundonald International Ice Bowl. No fee or number limit is published on the listing we checked — confirm directly with the park on +44 28 9244 7154. Source: Camping Ireland’s own directory listing, verified 18 Oct 2026.

Self-catering cottages

Genuine dog-friendly self-catering inside Belfast itself is thin on the major agencies’ own listings. Searching Sykes Cottages’ Northern Ireland listings directly, one property inside the city stood out with a clear pet marking:

  • Belfast city-centre holiday home (Sykes Cottages Ref. 1081355) — a three-storey property described on its own listing as being “in the vibrant city of Belfast, Northern Ireland,” marked “Pets: Yes.” The marking is a general pets flag rather than a dog-specific one, and no fee or number limit is shown, so confirm directly with Sykes or the owner that it’s suitable for your dog before booking. What to check before you book a dog-friendly stay in Belfast

  • Always confirm the dog fee and the maximum number of dogs directly with the property — a “dog friendly” tag on a listing site doesn’t guarantee the fee or limit shown there is current, and several of the properties here don’t publish one at all.
  • If a hotel’s dog policy can’t be confirmed from its own current website, as with the Bullitt Hotel, phone ahead rather than assuming an older press report still applies.
  • Pack familiar bedding, food and water from home so a new environment feels less unsettling, and bring something to help your dog settle in — we always travel with Calmshops’ 8-in-1 daily multivitamin chews as part of Figo’s travel routine.
  • If your dog has an existing health condition, speak to your vet before travelling, especially for a longer journey or a change of routine — our list of the best vets in Belfast is worth bookmarking in case you need one while you’re here.
Are there dog-friendly hotels in Belfast?

Yes — Second Nature Belfast, a city-centre hometel on Queen Street, takes dogs up to 35kg with no extra charge, and voco Belfast in the Gasworks also lists pets as welcome on IHG’s own site (fee not published, so confirm directly). We couldn’t confirm the Bullitt Hotel’s dog policy from its own current channels, so it isn’t listed as confirmed.

Can I find dog-friendly camping or a cottage in Belfast?

Supply is thin but genuine. Dundonald Touring Caravan Park is listed as dog friendly on the edge of the city, and one Sykes Cottages property inside Belfast has a general “Pets: Yes” marking.

Why isn’t the Bullitt Hotel listed as dog-friendly here?

It was widely reported in 2019 as launching dog-friendly rooms, but we couldn’t confirm that policy is still current from the hotel’s own channels, so we’ve left it out rather than pass on outdated information. Check directly with the hotel before booking.
