Dog-Friendly Pubs, Cafés & Restaurants in Swansea

Dog resting on a table at a dog-friendly pub or café

Swansea’s confirmed dog-friendly pubs are on Gower and in Mumbles. Our firmest source is CAMRA’s WhatPub listings, with a second group of cafés from a Gower visitor guide that we haven’t been able to confirm with the venues themselves.

Pubs on CAMRA’s Dog Friendly list

The Ship Inn at Port Eynon (SA3 1NN) allows dogs in the front and rear bar areas and on the outside seating. Smugglers Beach Bar & Kitchen in Port Eynon carries the Dog Friendly tag with no restrictions listed. The King’s Head at Llangennith (SA3 1HX) allows dogs in the lower bar and rooms but not the upper restaurant. Doghouse in Mumbles (650 Mumbles Road, SA3 4EA) is listed as dog friendly with no restrictions, and its hours run Tuesday to Sunday per the listing, so check they’re current.

The Worm’s Head Hotel at Rhossili is listed as allowing dogs in the bar and on the terrace, but CAMRA says the hotel and kitchen have been closed for rebuilding since a fire in July 2025, with only the Helvetia Bar operating. Confirm what’s open before you go.

Leads from a Gower visitor guide

An undated Enjoy Gower guide describes dogs being welcome in the front café sections and roof terrace of the Oyster House Hotel in Mumbles, on the ground floor of the Croeso Lounge, and in a dedicated area of the Mermaid Bar & Restaurant. It says Langland Brasserie has no dogs indoors but dedicates half its terrace, that the Surfside Cafés at Rotherslade, Langland and Caswell welcome dogs, that Pennard Stores and Three Cliffs Coffee Shop have a ground-floor dog area, that the Britannia Inn at Llanmadoc allows dogs in the bar and garden only, and that the Welcome to Town at Llanrhidian allows them in the bottom bar. We haven’t confirmed any of that with the venues, so ring first. Britannia is a very common pub name, so use the full address.

Gaps

We found no verified dog policy for the National Trust’s Gower cafés, and nothing for Swansea city centre, the Marina, Pontarddulais or Reynoldston. We found no dedicated dog café in the area. That’s a limit of what we could verify, not proof there’s nothing there. A pub listed as “The Loft” is in Neath, not Swansea.

Busy pubs can overwhelm a nervier dog. A calming bite before you set off can help take the edge off. If the nerves run deeper than a busy bar, that is a conversation for your vet.
