Dog Services in Dundee: Sitters and Groomers

Short-coated brown dog standing on a green grass field

On top of Balgay Hill sits Mills Observatory, which opened in 1935 and is considered the first purpose-built public observatory in the UK. General admission has been free, though planetarium shows carry a small charge and dome visits now need tickets, so check before you go. We haven’t confirmed whether dogs can come inside, so ring ahead if you want to bring yours.

For Dundee we have two local guides, dog sitters and groomers. Everything else below links to UK-wide pages.

What’s covered in Dundee

Out and about in Dundee

The Scottish Outdoor Access Code says your dog should be under proper control in public places. From roughly April to July, keep dogs on a short lead or at heel on grassland and along shores, where birds nest on the ground. Pick up after your dog, always.

Fireworks season and busy streets

If fireworks season or busy streets worry your dog, Calmshops stocks Calmdogs calming bites, a complementary feed to look at. It’s not a treatment, so speak to your vet if you’re worried about your dog’s behaviour.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there Dundee dog trainers on AboutDogs?

Not yet. Our trainer directory covers England and Wales at the moment, so we link it as a general starting point only.

Can dogs go into Mills Observatory?

We couldn’t confirm a dog policy, so contact the observatory before you go.
