Queenswood Country Park has a café that welcomes well-behaved, quiet dogs, which makes it an easy stop after a walk. The rest of the site has more rules. Herefordshire Wildlife Trust asks you to keep your dog under control at all times, and on a lead in the car parks, around the visitor centre, café and playground picnic area, and in the North and South Woods, which are a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Dogs aren’t allowed in the fenced children’s play area.
Herefordshire has county pages for trainers, vets and swimming spots. Sitters, groomers, rescue and pet transport link to the UK-wide guides.

Cafés, car parks and common courtesy
Country parks mix families, walkers and dogs in a small space, so a short lead near the busy areas is kind to everyone. If your dog isn’t sure about strangers, keep them close in the car park and picnic area, and head for the quieter paths once they’ve settled. Free waste bags are available from a dispenser outside the visitor centre during opening hours, but it’s worth carrying your own.
For the café-shy and the crowd-wary
A busy café can be a lot for some dogs. The Calmdogs calming bites from Calmshops are a complementary feed, not a medicine, and they work best alongside patient training. If your dog’s behaviour is a real worry, speak to your vet first.
