Dog Walkers in Warwickshire: Who to Trust & What to Check

Owner walking a dog along a park path

Warwickshire has plenty of dog walkers, but we could only verify a few from their own websites. Our standard is strict: a walker is listed only if their site shows they work in the county and states their insurance and checks, and marketplace walkers need a good number of reviews. Every insurance, DBS and first-aid statement below is the walker’s own claim, and we haven’t seen any certificates.

Walkers with their own websites

Pup Parade is based near Stratford-upon-Avon and covers a ten-mile radius across south Warwickshire, including Alcester, Shipston-on-Stour, Wellesbourne and Charlecote. Its site says “DBS checked and fully insured”, with canine first aid and a Level 2 canine care certificate. Pack walks are £14 for 45 minutes or £18 for an hour, and solo walks are £25. It uses small groups but doesn’t state a number, and we couldn’t confirm its review count.

OTBT Canine Adventure Walks (On The Beaten Track) is based in Bedworth CV12 and covers Bedworth plus some areas of Coventry and Nuneaton. It says it is fully insured with Petplan Sanctuary, both walkers are DBS cleared and Tracy is certified in canine first aid. Solo walks are £18 for 45 minutes, group walks £16 an hour and secure field walks £16. Its testimonials are on its own site and unverified. Outback Dog Walking is based in Kenilworth and names Kenilworth, Leamington Spa, Warwick, Harbury and Southam. Its site claims full insurance, DBS checks, canine first aid and membership of two industry bodies, but shows no prices and no review count. It also names Balsall Common, which is in Solihull.

Leads

Lucy’s Walks for Paws covers Warwick and Leamington Spa and says it has public liability insurance, but its site doesn’t mention DBS checks or first aid, and shows no prices. Pawshake’s Warwick page lists one Leamington walker with 55 reviews from £12, but we didn’t open her profile, so check it yourself. Bark’s Stratford page averages 5.0 across 97 reviews for the group, but doesn’t give per-walker counts, so we haven’t named any. We found no walkers with their own sites based in Rugby, Nuneaton, Atherstone or Henley-in-Arden, and none based in Alcester or Southam, though Pup Parade and Outback Dog Walking above say they cover those two. That is a limit of our search, not proof there are none.

Do dog walkers need a licence?

We found no Warwickshire licence for ordinary dog walking, though we didn’t check every council page. Rugby’s dog order sets no limit on dogs per person, and the North Warwickshire order sets none either. Dog day care and home boarding do need an animal activities licence from the local council: Warwick District Council’s page lists day care among the activities in scope. If a walker also advertises day care, ask which council licensed them.

Whoever you choose, ask about insurance, group size, recall and emergencies, and do a meet-and-greet first. A calming bite can help take the edge off a nervous dog’s first few walks, and if anxiety is a regular issue, speak to your vet. We haven’t tested any of them and Google ratings come from the public, so ask where each walker operates. Paws and Claws Care and Spots and Tails are listed as day care centres, which are licensed activities, so ask to see the council licence. Banbury walkers appear in Warwickshire searches but Banbury is in Oxfordshire, so we’ve left them out.
