Aberdeenshire is a big, rural county, and a private field can be a real help for a reactive, nervous or easily distracted dog. We checked Google Maps and five fields pass our bar: a listing, their own website and at least 10 reviews. They are spread from Aboyne to Peterhead, so it’s worth picking the one nearest you.

What we left out and haven’t checked
We haven’t visited any of these, and Google ratings come from the public. Reviewers call the fields secure, but we haven’t seen the fencing. Zoomies Aberdeen (4.9 from 65 reviews) gives a B997 address with an Aberdeen postcode, so we couldn’t tell whether it sits inside the city or the county. The fields in and around Aberdeen itself are on our Aberdeen secure dog fields page.
What to ask before you book
Ask how high the fence is, whether the field is yours alone for the slot, how many dogs are allowed and what it costs. Some of these are well off the main roads, so check the route and parking too. A calming bite beforehand may help a dog who finds new places a lot, though for ongoing anxiety, speak to your vet. More local ideas are on our Aberdeenshire dog services page.
If you’d rather someone else does the exercise, see our Aberdeenshire dog walkers. For help with recall or reactivity, our Aberdeen dog trainers directory is the nearest we have so far.
