Secure Dog Fields in Pembrokeshire

Dog standing in an open grassy field

Our first pass couldn’t confirm a secure dog field anywhere in Pembrokeshire, so Figo and I went back and checked Google Maps properly. Three fields passed our bar: a listing, their own website or booking page, and at least 15 reviews. A private field is a lovely option if your dog is reactive, nervous or has selective recall, because you usually get the whole space to yourselves for an hour.

Ffynnone Dog Field
★★★★★ 4.9 · 53 Google reviews
Newchapel, Boncath SA37 0HE. Online booking page (ffynnonedogfield.simplybook.it). Reviewers mention high fences, a shelter and water, and one says it was a relief to let a dog who tends to run off enjoy a proper run.

Saundersfoot Dog Park
★★★★★ 4.7 · 18 Google reviews
Bush Farm, Kilgetty SA68 0SE. Own website (saundersfootdogpark.uk). Reviewers call it a small, clean field with off-road parking, and one found it good for an anxious dog on holiday. It’s smaller than some, so it suits a quiet hour rather than a big game of fetch.

What we haven’t checked

We haven’t visited any of these fields, and Google ratings come from the public, so treat them as a starting point. Reviewers describe all three as secure, but we haven’t seen the fencing ourselves. Just over the border in Carmarthenshire, Ruby’s Field at Llanboidy near Whitland may suit if you’re in north-east Pembrokeshire, and you’ll find it in our Carmarthenshire secure dog fields guide.

What to ask before you book

Ask how high the fence is and whether it goes down to the ground, whether the field is exclusive to you for the slot, how many dogs are allowed, what it costs and whether the gate is double-latched. If your dog is a jumper or a digger, say so when you book. A dog who finds a new place a bit overwhelming may also settle better with a calming bite beforehand, though if anxiety is a regular problem, speak to your vet. More Pembrokeshire ideas are on our Pembrokeshire dog services page.

A field session pairs nicely with a free outing on one of the best local dog walks, and if you’d rather someone else took care of the walking in between, see our dog walkers in Pembrokeshire. If recall is the sticking point, our Pembrokeshire dog trainers directory is a good place to start.
