Caerphilly has no secure-fields guide of its own yet, so Figo and I checked Google Maps. Four fields stood out, each with a listing, a website or booking page and at least 75 reviews. A private field is a big help if your dog is reactive, nervous or still learning recall, because you normally get the space to yourselves for an hour.

What we haven’t checked
We haven’t visited any of these fields, and Google ratings come from the public. Reviewers describe them as secure, but we haven’t seen the fencing. Cwmblacks Playful Paws (4.4 from 61) and Llanbradach Fawr (4.3 from 8) came up too, but we didn’t confirm a website for either, so we’ve left them off.
What to ask before you book
Ask how high the fence is and whether it goes down to the ground, whether the field is exclusive to you, how many dogs are allowed and what it costs. A calming bite beforehand may help a dog who finds new places a lot, though for ongoing anxiety, speak to your vet. More Caerphilly ideas are on our Caerphilly dog services page.
If you’d like to build on a field session with some training, our Caerphilly dog trainers directory is a good place to look for recall help. For a change of scene afterwards, try the dog swimming spots in Caerphilly, and it’s worth knowing the best vets in Caerphilly too. Next door, our Torfaen secure dog fields guide has more options.
